I.dol.eyes—Greed (Video Teaching)

I.dol.eyes—Greed

Watch this video teaching by Juli entitled I.dol.eyes—Greed*

Idols are dangerous and demanding, while continually over-promising and under-delivering. Just as idols are good things turned into ultimate things, so the desires they generate become paralyzing and overwhelming. If unchecked, these beliefs magnify ordinary disappointments and failures into life-shattering experiences.

In this teaching, Juli examines the deep idol of greed by showing how the love of money displaces God from His rightful place of worship. Juli unravels the account of Jesus’s temptation by Satan in the desert and explains how He overcame the idol of greed and then revealed to us the one thing that could topple the idols in our lives.

Faith Pleases God (Video Teaching)

Faith Pleases God

Watch this video teaching by Juli entitled Faith Pleases God.*

In this teaching, Juli shares 4 faith principles learned from the prostitute Rahab. Rahab had an understanding of God’s character; an understanding that many of His covenant people lack. Rahab trusted God to save her because she trusted solely in His goodness and His grace. God responded to her faith and forever commemorated her in the lineage of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Her story is one of redemption and restoration. We can learn a lot from Rahab.

See.Serve.Speak (Audio Teaching)

Need a New Definition of Evangelism?

Check out this Sunday sermon by Juli entitled, See.Serve.Speak. Juli unpacks the account of the women at the well in John 4, while sharing personal illustrations of evangelism that differ from her preconceived notions growing up. This will help you be prepared to share the good news of Christ Jesus in a natural way with those you encounter.

Scripture: John 4:4-42
Summary: The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus is meant to be shared in powerful and natural ways by all of us who follow Jesus. We can do this in ways that fit with how God wired us. There is no formula, but there are patterns from Jesus’ life that we can emulate. That pattern is found in these three practices: presence, service and words. We should be ready to serve and love in these ways, and then allow the Spirit to guide us as we live our lives in the world.

Permission to Speak: In Disappointment (Audio Teaching)

Looking for Encouragement?

Check out this Sunday sermon by Juli entitled Permission to Speak In Disappointment. Juli shares a very personal story of disappointment highlighting God's faithfulness in midst of the situation. This message will encourage you to address disappointment head on while making room for God's healing work to begin in your heart.

Scripture: Psalms 77:1-15
Summary: Disappointment taints our view of God. Disappointment can lead to discouragement, resentment and bitterness. Only when the author of this Psalms was able to confess his feelings of disappointment before God, was God able to impart perspective. This Psalms gives us permission to be honest and tell God how we feel, rather than hiding our feelings. Through this, if we focus on God's faithfulness than we allow for God’s healing to begin its work in our lives.

The Radiance of God's Glory (Audio Teaching)

Scripture: Matthew 16:1-4; 13-28; 17:1-5; Hebrews 1:1-4

The Pharisees asked Jesus for a miraculous sign and He declares that none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. Yet, when he’s alone with his disciples he starts asking them what they believe about him. Upon realization of what the Father had revealed to them about being the Christ, Jesus predicts His death, rebuked Peter for countering it and then is transfigured in front of them, giving Peter, James and John the very testimony of the Law, the Prophets and God himself confirming what God had been revealed to them. Jesus didn’t care to share this with those who chronically didn’t believe in Him but willingly delighted to share it with those coming into that revelation.

"Fear Not! There is Peace” (Audio Teaching)

Scripture: Matthew 1:21; Luke 2:14

When God started speaking after 400 years of silence He revealed two amazing things. First, the savior would save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21) and there would be peace toward humanity on behalf of God (Luke 2:14). In fact, the heavens break open in joyous celebration to announce this amazing news. Why is the response fear? Why is our response to God still fear? When God starts shining His light in us, our tendency is to be afraid because we fear judgment; however, if we understand the message of forgiveness and peace as announce by the angles when the Savior was born into the world we have no reason to fear because we’ll understand there is peace toward us on behalf of God.

Jesus Said, “Everything I have is Yours!” (Audio Teaching)

Scripture: Luke 15:11-32

In the parable of the prodigal son the Father responded with incredible love to both of His sons although their perspective of who they were in the family was radically different. We will examine this this paying special attention to what the Father in the story reveals about God's Love, His acceptance and how He sees his children as heirs not servants.

Above What We Think Or Imagine

Paul said in Ephesians 3 that God is able to do above what we think or imagine. What incredible news! He goes onto say that this is according to the power living inside of us, which means God is able to do great things through us because of the Holy Spirit living and breathing on the inside.
