“The mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:26-27)

As New Testament believers we have been given the best gifts ever! One of these awesome gifts is Christ living in us through the indwelling Holy Spirit. In fact, this is a profound mystery that was previously hidden for ages and generations but revealed to the Church. God saved the best for last!

“I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness” (Colossians 1:25)

One of the most amazing gifts God gave to the Church was the Apostle Paul. His ministry was nothing less than a wonderful blessing for the body of Christ. This is evident in his statement of being commissioned by God to present a full and complete revelation of Christ and His Word to the Church.

He was so focused on this mission that priority in this letter is to express the revelation of Christ. It had been hidden throughout the ages but revealed to the Church through the revelation Paul received (Galatians 1:11-12; Colossians 1:26-27). This is why his prayer throughout the entire letter, is that we would be filled with God’s knowledge and understand it with the insight and wisdom that only the Spirit of God gives (Colossians 1:9).
