Jesus' Years will Never End (Hebrews 1:10-12)

  • Part 3 of 3

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy" ( Colossians 1:15-18 ).

What a wonderful truth to know that Jesus will reign forever, even though the world as we know it will eventually end. How awesome it will be to spend eternity with Him in heaven, a place free from evil, sin, sickness and death. To our mortal brains, eternity is hard to conceive. But knowing we will be with Jesus, I cannot wait to experience every single day of it. Each time I ponder living forever and ever with my savior, I am reminded of the words in the last verse of Amazing Grace, "When we've been here ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise, than when we'd first begun"

I am thankful that Peter's prophecy of how the earth is destroyed does not end only with fire but also with a pledge, "in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness" ( II Peter 3:13 ). This is where the King will live and all of His royal subjects, forever and ever! Amen!

Tomorrow we look at Hebrews 1:13-14; Jesus is Lord
